London 2012 7 a side Football, Throw-ins can be made with one hand in 7 a side Football

7 a side Football

One of the two versions of Football being played at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, 7-a-side Football matches will also take place at the temporary Hockey Centre at the Olympic Park. A fast paced sport played by athletes with cerebral palsy, Paralympic 7-a-side football at the London 2012 Games will be one of the must see events with 8 teams all battling it out on the pitch to become Paralympic Champoins.

Following FIFA rules, Paralympic 7-a-side Football has a few modifications to keep the game flowing. Firstly each team consists of 7 players, playing on a smaller pitch and with a smaller goal in a game that consists of two halves of 30 minutes. There is no offside rule in 7-a-side Paralympic Football and players can throw-in using one hand.

7-a-side Paralympic Football has been in the Paralympic Games programme since the New York and Stoke Mandeville Games in 1984 and next summer will be your chance to experience a fantastic competition.
